Program Notes
La Solitude de l'Instant Zéro (2011), was composed for a ensemble. Several methods of distortion were applied on different structural elements governing this work:
- The distortion of a sound object through multi-layered rhythmic processes.
- The distortion of a timber by the progressive insertion of noise elements.
- The distortion of a pulse by the fluctuation of its velocity, magnitude or direction.
From a metaphorical perspective, certain types of distortions belonging to other fields such as thermodynamics or cognitive psychology served as heuristic models:
- The distortion of a dissipative structure by alteration of its dynamical régime.
- The distortion of our perception of the world by our apprehension about the future.
